Being a wealth advisor, I enjoy helping people. Helping people make a better life for themselves through Life Insurance, Investments and Real Estate Investing.
I like to educate people about the importance of taking control of their finances so that they may feel empowered by the possibilities the future holds. Life is a series of changes or transitions through education, employment, marriage, or becoming a parent. Each transition has its own set of financial challenges. Having personally journeyed through job loss, divorce and near bankruptcy, I know firsthand how education can help when it comes to investing with the goal of generating passive income.
Over 25 years ago I emigrated from Puebla, Mexico to Canada, after completing my certification as a Professional Engineer. For years I climbed the corporate ladder working from technical positions to a senior leadership role as Program Manager. I built a great international engineering career and was well respected in my field.
Eventually, for reasons beyond my control I was downsized and packaged out from my job, all while I was going through a divorce. It certainly was a period of transition for me in all aspects of my life. At that time, I remember feeling lost, overwhelmed and uneasy about my next steps. I’ve always considered myself smart but I was overwhelmed with my financial decisions. I felt I should know better. That’s when I decided to take control.
I had an engineering contract in 2008. During this time I could sense that I was going to be affected once more by an organizational downsizing. Since I had been through this before, I committed to take control of my financial future. This time I decided to change my career by pursuing a qualification in financial services. As I enthusiastically dove right into Wealth Management a major recession hit and slowed my progress in applying my training.
Although I was facing a transition within my life once more I felt different. I had the knowledge to make better decisions for myself. I stayed on a budget I could live and be happy with. I knew how to manage and plan for my own financial success with greater clarity and confidence. I became my own first client, implementing my own plan.
I have come to realize is that planning for the future is not only a financial endeavour. It takes personal growth and development, a keen sense of awareness, a willingness to learn and adjust with small changes and most importantly, a commitment to meet your goals. I’m passionate to share my success in order to empower other people to grow. I enjoy educating people about the countless ways they can ensure their financial success, especially during times of transition and unexpected change.
